Robson Golightly Green was born on 18 December 1964 in Hexham, Northumberland. He grew up with his family in Dudley, a small mining village south of Cramlington.
Green completed his education at Dudley Middle Comprehensive School.
He was inspired by jets gliding above and decided that he desired to join the Royal Air Force. He joined the Air Training Corps at the age of 16. Though soon enough he decided against the career.
He laterlearned to play the guitar and formed his first band, Solid State.
He also spent one night a week at the Backworth Drama Centre. Green left school aged 16 with five O-levels. He entered Swan Hunter’s shipyard as a draughtsman. From here on he tried his hand at professional boxing and various things.
Two years later he settled for acting and started auditioning and training. He even started his musical career with the band Workie Tickets.
