Adeleke was born in Dublin in 2002 to Nigerian parents Ade and Prince Adeleke.

She won a junior sprint double at the Irish Schools championships for Presentation College, Terenure. She is a member of the Tallaght Athletic Club.

She won a silver medal in the 4 x 100m relay with Molly Scott, Gina Akpe-Moses, Ciara Neville and Patience Jumbo-Gala at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland and a gold in the 200m at the 2018 European Athletics U18 Championships in Győr, Hungary

Competing on her home track at the University of Texas in Austin, Adeleke produced a sensational win in the final of the 400 metres, with that becoming the first Irish woman to win an outdoor NCAA sprint title.

Then Adeleke kicked for home, winning in 49.20 to Wilson’s 49.64, with that improving her Irish record of 49.54 from last month, her seventh record this year – inside the top 20 fastest times ever.
