Tim Kaine Children: Who Are Tim Kaine Children?: Tim Kaine, officially known as Timothy Michael Kaine is an American lawyer and politician born on February 26, 1958, to Mary Kathleen and Albert Alexander Kaine, Jr.

He grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School before entering private practice and becoming a lecturer at the University of Richmond School of Law.

Tim Kaine was first elected to public office in 1994 when he won a seat on the Richmond City Council. He was elected mayor of Richmond in 1998 and held that position until being elected lieutenant governor of Virginia in 2001.

As a member of the Democratic Party, Tim Kaine served as the 38th lieutenant governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006 and the 70th governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010. Kaine has been serving as the junior United States senator from Virginia since 2013.

He stepped into the national spotlight when he ran for vice president with Democrat Hillary Clinton on a ticket that lost to Donald Trump and Mike Pence. However, Kaine was re-elected to a 2nd Senate term in 2018, defeating Republican Corey Stewart.

In January 2023, Tim Kaine made headlines on Friday, January 20, 2023, when he announced that he will seek re-election in 2024 for a 3rd term in office, debunking speculation that, he could be retiring.

“I’m a servant, I love Virginia, I’m proud of what I’ve done, I’ve got a whole lot more to do,” Tim Kaine said at a press event in the state’s capital of Richmond. He made the announcement after hosting a roundtable event with city leaders.
