In the 2015 NBA Draft, Rozier was chosen with the 16th overall choice by the Boston Celtics on June 25, 2015. He committed to the Celtics on July 27, 2015, when he signed his rookie scale deal.
He was sent on several occasions to the Boston D-League club, the Maine Red Claws, during his first season. For the Celtics in the 2015–16 regular season, he played in 39 games and twice scored a season-high seven points.
Against the Atlanta Hawks in his debut postseason game, he scored 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting. In a 105–99 victory over the Indiana Pacers on November 12, 2016, Rozier recorded a career-high 11 points.
