Reactions As Pastor Charges Members $1499 To Teach Them How To Pray

Outrage has been sparked online after an American pastor, Dr Juanita Bynum charged her member $1499 to teach them how to pray.

She distributed a flier on her social media pages with the pastor’s price list for the four-week programme that includes a certificate.

Bynum wrote;

“The Prayer Institute, a four week 7 Session, in-person 2 hour intensive. Register Now!

“Location: Atlanta, GA

Seating is Limited!”

shemisjewelry wrote; That the institute is named “The Prayer Institute” doesn’t mean that’s all they do there! If she’s giving out value, she deserves a reward. It’s her institute and her choice!

midas_we_thrive had this to say: Is she is not using money to run her ministry. Is 4 weeks course supposed to be free? don’t they have staff, venue management, participants welfare, course materials. A lot goes into organising such programs, like feeding, course materials, they bring other Facilitators to come teach which also cost money. Moreover that it is a prayer institute doesn’t mean the course is all about prayer. No one is forced to attend. An India priest charged over $15k for his mediation retreat and no one is dragging him. When it is a pastor every one will start talking. Great Pastors also invest so much in what they do and they offer great value and hence if they charge for it, there is nothing wrong with that. I attended Pastor Sam Adeyemi leadership program and I paid for it and at the end every dime was worth it because what I learnt was beyond just church, it was all round personal Growth.
