Paul Goldschmidt is an American professional baseball who plays as a first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Wilmington born star also represents the United States baseball team in international competition.
Goldschmidt attended The Woodlands High School in Texas, where he played baseball and made a name for himself with his excellent performances. He has recruited out of high school by the Texas State Bobcats before being selected in the 8th round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
