Mo Farah Wife: Meet Tania Nell
Mo Farah Wife: Meet Tania Nell – Sir Mohamed Muktar Jama Farah, also known as Mo Farah, is a British-Somali long-distance runner.
He was born on March 23, 1983, in present-day Somaliland, and was trafficked from Djibouti to London when he was nine years old. Farah was forced into child labor and was given the name Mohamed Farah, which he adopted as his own when he became a British citizen.
Farah is widely considered one of the most successful male track distance runners in history. He has ten global championship gold medals to his name, four Olympic and six World titles, making him the most successful British track athlete in modern Olympic Games history. Farah won gold in both the 5,000 m and 10,000 m at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, becoming the second athlete after Lasse Virén to win both titles in successive Olympic Games. He also won the ‘distance double’ at the 2013 and 2015 World Championships in Athletics and defended both titles in both major global competitions, a feat known as the ‘quadruple-double.’
Farah is renowned for his tactical running style and quick sprint finish, which has been described as bouncy. He mostly competed in the 5,000 m and 10,000 m categories, but he has also run competitively from 1,500 meters to the marathon. In 2017, after winning his final track race, the 2017 IAAF Diamond League 5,000 meters final, Farah announced his intention to switch wholly to road racing. He won the 2018 Chicago Marathon in a time of 2:05:11, setting a European record.
Farah holds several records, including the European record for the 10,000 m and two miles, the British record for the 5,000 m, the British indoor record for the 3,000 m, and the current world record holder for the one-hour run and indoor world record holder for the two miles.
Farah’s running career has been decorated with several awards and honors. He was the first British athlete to win two gold medals at the same world championships and has won five gold medals at the European Athletics Championships, making him the most successful athlete in individual events in the championships’ history.
Mo Farah has won the European Athlete of the Year award and the British Athletics Writers Association British Athlete of the Year award more times than any other athlete, three times and six times, respectively.
In 2017, he won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. In recognition of his services to athletics, Farah was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2013 and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in the 2017 New Year Honours.
