Kevin Rudd Children: Meet Jessica, Marcus, And Nicholas: Kevin Rudd, officially known as Kevin Michael Rudd was born to Albert Rudd and Margaret Rudd in Nambour, Australia on September 21, 1957.

He’s an Australian former politician and diplomat. Kevin Rudd attended Eumundi State School and graduated from the Australian National University with honors in Chinese studies and is fluent in Mandarin.

He worked as a diplomat and public servant for the Goss Ministry before entering politics. Rudd was elected to the Australian House of Representatives at the 1998 federal election, as a member of parliament for the division of Griffith.

He also served as the 26th prime minister of Australia from 2007 to 2010 and again from June 2013 to September 2013, holding office as the leader of the Australian Labor Party.

After retiring from parliament as an MP, he still stayed active in politics. In February 2014, he was named Senior Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he leads research on the future of China–United States relations.

In October 2017, Rudd launched the first volume of his autobiography, entitled Not for the Faint-hearted: A Personal Reflection on Life, Politics and Purpose, which chronicles his life until becoming prime minister in 2007.

Kevin Rudd was also conferred with a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Oxford in 2022. He is set to be appointed as the 23rd Ambassador of Australia to the United States in March of 2023, succeeding Arthur Sinodinos.
