He fell in love with the UFC after watching UFC 100 for the first time while visiting his father in Philadelphia.

Holland began his professional MMA career in 2015 after compiling a 5-0 amateur record. Prior to signing with the UFC, he fought for Xtreme Knockout, Legacy Fighting Championship, King of the Cage, Bellator MMA, and Legacy Fighting Alliance, amassing a record of 12-3.

Kevin Holland made his UFC debut on August 4, 2018, against Thiago Santos at UFC 227. He was defeated by a unanimous vote.

On November 24, 2018, Holland faced off against John Phillips at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Ngannou 2. He won the fight by rear-naked choke submission in round three.

On March 30, 2019, Holland faced Gerald Meerschaert at UFC on ESPN 2. He was victorious by unanimous decision.

At UFC Fight Night 154 on June 22, 2019, Holland faced Alessio Di Chirico. He was declared the winner unanimously.

Holland was scheduled to face Jack Marshman at UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Edwards on March 21, 2020. However, on April 9, Dana White, the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, announced that the event had been postponed.

Instead, on May 16, 2020, at UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs. Harris, Holland faced Anthony Hernandez. He won the fight via technical knockout in the first round.

On March 20, 2021, at UFC on ESPN 21, Holland faced Derek Brunson. He was defeated by unanimous decision.

On April 10, 2021, Holland faced Marvin Vettori, who was filling in for an injured Darren Till, at UFC on ABC 2. Holland tied the record for the shortest turnaround between two main events with his second main event in three weeks.

Despite a few punches that hurt Vettori, Holland was dominated on the ground for the majority of the fight and lost by unanimous decision. Holland then signed a new multi-fight contract with the UFC, with one fight remaining on his previous contract.

Holland will return to the Welterweight division for the first time since 2017 to face Alex Oliveira at UFC 272 on March 5, 2022. In round two, he won by technical knockout. This victory earned him the award for Performance of the Night.

His parents are unknown because he was raised primarily by his grandparents in Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario. Holland’s mother has been in and out of jail, while his father has been incarcerated his entire life.
