Pederson plays outfield for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. He is an American professional baseball player.

In his 115th game of the season on August 23, Pederson hit 30 home runs and stole 30 bases, making him the fourth player in PCL history and the first to do so in 80 years (since Frank Demaree in 1934, in 186 games).

Lefty O’Doul (1927, in 189 games) and Hall of Famer Tony Lazzeri were the only two Pacific Coast League batters to do it (1925, in 197 games). He joined Chin-Feng Chen (1999; 31/31 for Class A San Bernardino) as the only other minor leaguer for the Dodgers to ever do it.

On June 2, Pederson hit two home runs during a day-night doubleheader. His second home run, which was the farthest in the Majors at the time of the season with an estimated 480 feet, was hit in both games. He became the first rookie Dodger to ever hit a home run in five straight games on June 3.

Along with Roy Campanella (1950), Shawn Green (2001), Matt Kemp (2010), and Adrián González, Pederson also equalled the team record with that performance (2014–15). In addition to his four-game home run streak from May, he joined Jimmie Hall of Minnesota in becoming just the second rookie in the modern era to have two home run streaks of at least four games.

Prior to the All-Star break, Pederson passed Mike Piazza (1993) with his 19th home run, which he hit on June 22. On June 29, he hit his 20th home run, joining Wally Berger (1930) and Albert Pujols as the only rookies in MLB history to smash 20 or more before the month of July (2001).
