He developed a passion for playing rugby at a younger age and has been consistent throughout his career rising through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after rugby players.

At the time of this writing (Wednesday, May 31, 2023) Walsh is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a fullback for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Rugby League.

The promising youngster previously played for the New Zealand Warriors in the National Rugby League (NRL) before joining the Brisbane Broncos in the same league.

Walsh joined the Brisbane Broncos squad in 2021 on a development contract and started the season playing for the Norths Devils in the Queensland Cup.

On 18 March, he signed a three-year contract with the New Zealand Warriors, beginning in 2022, and was then released from his Brisbane development contract on 10 April.

Walsh made his first-grade debut for the New Zealand Warriors against Melbourne on 25 April, in round 7 of the 2021 National Rugby League season.

On 6 July 2022, Walsh was granted an early release from his New Zealand contract to rejoin his former club Brisbane starting in 2023.

In round 2 of the 2023 NRL season, he made his club debut for Brisbane and scored a try in their 28-16 victory over arch-rivals North Queensland.

In May 2023, Reece Walsh hit the headlines after it was reported that he has allegedly split from his girlfriend and the mother of his child, Freda Puru.
