Final Year KSUSTA Student Beaten To Death A Week To His Graduation Over A Failed N3.5k Cash Transfer
In a sad report, a final year student has been beaten to death in Kebbi State.
Per what we gathered, he is a 400-level student of Biochemistry student of the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aliero whose name is Sharif Sale-Kanya.
He was allegedly beaten to death by an angry mob over N3500 failed transfer, in the Aliero community, Kebbi State.
The report, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), indicated that the incident happened on February 27 and this is just a week before his graduation.
Speaking to reporters, an eyewitness stated that the student bought a handset in Aliero town and made payment through a transfer.
However, the student immediately after buying the handset went into the examination hall and switched it off.
He said;
“However, a few hours later, he realised that the money he transferred for the payment of the handset had been reversed due to network failure. Sharif returned to Aliero town to pay for the handset in cash when a mob of youth descended on him, on getting there for being a thief.
He was rushed to the General Hospital, but was confirmed dead shortly after he was admitted.”
The incident was also confirmed by the President, National Union of Kebbi State Students (NUKESS) Comr. Kabiru Sama’ila Wara, in a statement which revealed that over 20 persons have been arrested in connection with the incident.
