Dryden Hunt Parents: Meet Carla and Jeff – Dryden Hunt played amateur junior hockey firstly with the Notre Dame Argos in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League before moving back to his native British Columbia with the Kootenay Ice of the BC Hockey Major Midget League.

Hunt chose to play for the Regina Pats in the Western Hockey League as a major junior. He finished the season with a total of 36 points in 34 games.

Undrafted, Hunt decided to play his overage year in the WHL. On September 23, 2015, the Moose Jaw Warriors acquired Hunt before the 2015–16 season.

Hunt’s offensive game got better as he went along, leading the Warriors and the League with 58 goals in 72 contests. He finished the regular season as an alternate captain with 116 points before losing in the second round with 16 points in 10 postseason games. In addition to being named to the East First All-Star Team, he was chosen as the League’s Player of the Year.

Hunt signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Florida Panthers as a free agent on March 2, 2016, as he was entering the final stretch of his major junior season.

Hunt’s role with the Thunderbirds was extended for the ensuing 2017–18 season. On November 9, 2017, he was first recalled to the Panthers following 13 games. On November 10, 2017, the Panthers defeated the Buffalo Sabres 4-1 to give him his NHL debut.

Hunt was released as a free agent after his fourth season with the Panthers organization because Florida did not extend a qualifying offer to him as an upcoming restricted free agent. Hunt signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Arizona Coyotes in October 2020.

Hunt remained on the Coyotes taxi squad during the pandemic-shortened 2020–21 season, and after being promoted to the roster and initially acting as a healthy scratch, he made his debut.

When added to the lineup, Hunt added a strong presence and amassed 3 goals and 8 points in 26 games, but the Coyotes were unable to make the playoffs.

Hunt agreed to a two-year contract with the New York Rangers on July 28, 2021, while he was still a free agent. Hunt made his Rangers debut on opening night of the 2021–22 season on October 13, 2021, playing on the fourth line in a 5–1 loss to the Washington Capitals.

Prior to scoring his first goal with the Rangers in a 2-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on November 18, 2021, he made his 100th NHL appearance on November 5, 2021, in a defeat to the Edmonton Oilers that required overtime.
