Max Muncy born on August 25, 1990, is an American professional baseball infielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB).

He played college baseball for the Baylor Bears and was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the fifth round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. He played in MLB for the Athletics in 2015 and 2016 and later joined the Dodgers in 2018.

The Oakland Athletics selected Max Muncy in the fifth round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft. Hitting 275/.383/.432 and four home runs in 64 games, he made his professional debut with the Burlington Bees of the Class A Midwest League. The 2013 season saw him start in the Class A Advanced Stockton Ports of the California League before being promoted to the Class A A Texas League Midlands where he was promoted to the Rockhounds.

At his promotion, Max Muncy led the California league with 21 home runs and 76 RBIs (RBI). 476 with 25 home runs and he had 100 RBIs. After the season, he played for the Arizona Falls Mesa Solar Sox in the league. In 2014 he returned to Midland.

Max Muncy began the 2015 season with the Nashville Sounds of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League (PCL) but was promoted to the major leagues on April 25 after second baseman Ben Zobrist was placed on the 15-day disabled list. On May 17, 2015, Muncy hit his first major league home run off of Chicago White Sox pitcher Jeff Samardzija.

He signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 27, 2017, and the organization reassigned him to the Oklahoma City Dodgers of the PCL. 309 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI in 109 games. Max Muncy was called up to the Dodgers on April 17, 2018, hitting his 20th home run for the Dodgers in his 183rd at-bat, setting a franchise record.

In 2019, Max Muncy was selected to the 2019 Major League Baseball All-Star Game as an injury replacement, his first all-star appearance, replacing Washington Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon. On August 30, 2019, Muncy was placed on the injured list with a wrist fracture. He finished the 2019 regular season, playing in 142 games, hitting .251/.374/.515 with 35 home runs (for the second season in a row) and a career-high 98 RBIs. Muncy also received two MVP votes.

On February 6, 2020, the Dodgers and Max Muncy agreed to a three-year, $26 million contract extension with a $13 million option for a fourth year. The 2020 season was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in North America. On August 22, 2022, Max Muncy signed a one-year contract extension worth $13.5 million for the 2023 season, which also included a $10 million club option for 2024, with incentives. He played in 136 games in 2022, with most of his starts at third base after the team acquired Freddie Freeman to play first. He hit a career-low .196 with 21 homers and 69 RBIs.

Max Muncy is a married man married to Kellie Cline a graduate of Baylor University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising. She was born to Dale and Beverly Cline, formerly Biggs, and raised with her amazing brother, Kevin, in Southlake. She attended Southlake Carroll High School.

After meeting each other at the university and beginning dating, Max Muncy proposed to Kellie to be his forever in 2017, and the two tied the knot in November 2018, however, the details of the marriage are not known. They welcomed their daughter Sophie Kate, to their family on July 25, 2021.

Max Muncy is known to have welcomed a daughter named Sophie Kate with his wife Kellie Cline in 2021 but there is nothing known about her recently, was reported to be expecting his second child but that hasn’t been confirmed hence he’s a father of one for now.
