Born to a Cameroonian father and a Nigerian mother in Abakaliki in Nigeria, on January 1, 1950, was part of a band, Rocafil Jazz, that toured around the country.

“Sweet Mother” sung in Pidgin English celebrates mothers was released in December, 1976 by an Onitsha-based music group called Rogers All Stars.

On June 23, 1997, Prince Nico Mbarga was reported dead after suffering a motocycle accident in Calabar leaving is wife, Pauline E. Mbarga.

According to a report by Opera News, Prince recorded a song “Lucky Marriage” after Pauline accepted to be his wife who was one of the hottest maidens at the time.
