Diego Maradona Wife: Meet Claudia Villafane: Diego Maradona was born on October 30, 1960, in Lanús, Argentina to Diego Maradona ‘Chitoro’ and Dalma Salvadora Franco.

Officially known as Diego Armando Maradona, he was an Argentine professional football player and manager regarded as the top footballer of the 1980s and one of the greatest of all time.

Diego Maradona was known for his ability to control the ball and create scoring opportunities for himself and others. He led club teams to championships in Argentina, Italy, and Spain.

He was also part of the Argentine national team that won the 1986 World Cup. Diego Maradona played for Argentina from 1977 to 1994 in 91 international matches where he scored 34 goals.

He retired from professional football in 1997. As a coach, he worked with Racing Club, Fujairah FC, and the Argentine national team from 2008 to 2010. Diego Maradona died of a heart attack on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
