It was established on 31st December 2011 by an Act of the Parliament of Ghana. This institution aims to dispense leadership and management of energy and natural resources in addition to being an excellent center in relation to these areas.

Entry Requirements to UENR
These are the requirements for Regular Applicants:
(a) Those seeking to undertake 4-Year Degree Programmes must meet the following requirements;
- SSSCE holders with credit passes (A-D) in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit passes (A-D) in Three Elective subjects relevant to the programme of study with an aggregate score of 24 or better.
- WASSCE holders with credit passes (A1-C6) in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit passes (A1-C6) in Three Elective subjects relevant to the programme of study with an aggregate score of 36 or better.
- GENERAL BUSINESS CERTIFICATE (GBCE) holders with credit passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant electives.
- ADVANCED LEVEL holders with credit in at least Five (5) subjects at the GCE ‘O’ Level (or it’s equivalent) including English and Mathematics, plus at least two passes in the subjects relevant to the programme of study.
- FOREIGN APPLICANTS who have any of the above qualifications or their equivalences from an accredited/recognized institution.
- OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Other qualifications acceptable for consideration include International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, American Grade 13 Examinations, and other external qualifications which have equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE and the GCE (A Levels).
(b) 2-Year Diploma Programmes must have the following;
- SSSCE holders with passes (A-E) in all subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus 3 passes (A-E) in Three Elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.
- WASSCE holders with passes (A1-D7) in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus passes (A1-D7) in Three Elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.
(c) Mature Applicants must meet the following criteria;
- Be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth.
- Pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations conducted by the institution itself (English Language, Mathematics, and an Aptitude Test).
- Possess any of the following:
- SSSCE/WASSCE,
- Teacher’s Cert. ‘A’
- NVTI/NABPTEX Certificates
What is the Cut-Off Point for Nursing
As mentioned above, the cut-off point for nursing is aggregate 12.
How Much Do UENR Forms Cost?
The application forms for the University of Energy and Natural Resources 2022 e-voucher costs GH¢200.00 for Ghanaian applicants and while international applicants are 100 cedis.
Are UENR Forms Still Available?
The application forms were released in May 2022. Applicants are encouraged to complete their application process before the deadline of 31st October 2022.
