Jeremy Giambi, one of baseball’s most recognizable (and contentious) figures, died on February 9, 2022, at the age of 47.
Gambi passed away at his parents’ house in Southern California, according to a press release from his agent, Joel Wolfe, who also confirmed the tragedy.
From 1998 through 2003, Gambi represented the Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, and Boston Red Sox in Major League Baseball as an outfielder and first baseman.
Despite having a lucrative profession, he ran into legal problems after being detained on drug-related charges. Later, he was freed.
